Welding any type of cast iron is iffy. The main issue is that it cools too quick and makes for inferior penetration. It can be a hit and miss situation and this is why we read so much about guys popping off the flanges on their turbine housings. Take your time, keep a torch a blaze don't forget to remove all the "flash"

i agree the hks manifold could be better but so could anything! i'm pretty sure HKS has been making those manifolds for like 10 years now....
