Well, i've decided im going to wait on the FMIC, since it is a hefty price any way u look at it, so with full exhaust/huge streetport/free flow intake, im going to be boosting pretty high, and spiking. So i wanna get a GOOD wastegate, so i don't overboost and cramp in the hot air. I was looking at the HKS standard, and wanna know more about it. Will this solve any problems with too much boost? and can i slap it on the stock turbo? is install easy? <_<

The only way you would be able to use an HKS standard is to get an aftermarket manifold with the HKS standard wastegate flange welded to it. It's not a bolt on and go type of thing. With the full exhaust and free-flowing intake, you'd have to port the stock wastegate to help with your boost creep.

Porting the wastegate's EASY...take the turbine out of the car. Set the compressor so that it faces the ground and you've got the exhaust side facing up. You should have 3 bolts(13mm or 14mm in think) Spray WD-40 on them and then unbolt it. Underneath of it, you'll see the wastegate. Unhook the C-Clip from the wastegate door so that the wastegate swings freely. Now take some spray paint(Color is user preference )and spray the area down lightly. Now take the wastegate door and lift up on it. The unpainted area is what you will need to take a dremel to. Re-Assembly is in the reverse.

Good luck!

If you have a big port it will still spike, just not as much.

fu*(, so how can win? I plan on having a huge streetport too, suppose that won't help at all.
