thanks for all the replys

how much lag does a T66 have? and will it fit on the HKS (XS) cast manifold?

is the tubular manifold worth the money?

How much worse would the turbo lag be on the same motor with the t51r compared to say a t78?

I have a list of turbo setups on an excel sheet I got from Gordon Monsen back in the day. Steve Kan's car is litsted as having the t-66 and made 550rwhp. The turbo should work with the hks manifold, at least from what i've always heard. Its very close to size to the t-78, both can make 500+ horsepower, but you will be going custum with the t-66 and maybe save some money.

A t51r is going to be pretty laggy, its a huge turbo. The t66 or t78 are both still good for the street, a tad lagggy yes, but the power potential is very high while they still make good power on a street car down low, depending on porting of course.

I had all the reciepts for my custum t-62 kit around here somewhere and I believe the total bill was around $2500 for all the parts to make it work. The hks manifold is sweet, very nice manifold with good ports.

I highly doubt my t-62 is good for 550rwhp, more like an easy 450rwhp with proper tuning and boost. You'd need to call up turbonetics or majestic turbo's and ask them for a quote on dual ball bearings on something like a t-66 or whatever you decide to go with.

T78 is a greddy turbo and is pretty expensive to have rebuilt, but T66 can do almost the same power and its a little cheaper to boot. I wouldn't do a ball bearing turbo due to the fact that it will be expensive as hell to rebuild should a seal go through it.

Well if I was you I will get the t70 . For the price of the turbo and the power it makes its well worth the money . I personally have a t70 and I'm very happy with it and the lag on it its not that bad . So happy hunting .

It runs very good , I hit 15psi about 4k rpm . The only problem I have at high rpm I get some break up . Dragon was nice to hook me up with his map but for some reason it still does the break up . So soon as I get some more money dyno day will come .

Thanks
