You could use a -3an, -4an will be fine too but I wouldn't go any bigger.

Yeah, going bigger will lead to alot of smoking. MY friend used a -6, and it was pretty embarrassing.

Ok, I know that going bigger causes a problem with the oil and results in smoking. But how much oil is consumed? Anybody care to explain why this occurs?

The oil pushes past the seals. A significant amoutn can be burned. I once had a stock turbo with bad seals, and it would burn about a quart every 100 miles.

From what little I know the oil return line should be much larger to allow the oil to circulate.

yea im running a -10 return line https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The FD has a very high oil pressure, It doesn't matter what size the line is to the turbo, but you should have a oil restictor with a 1.8-2mm pin hole in it just prior to where the oil enters the turbo... Most turbo kits will have this in the 1/8 npt adapter that bolts to the top of the turbo.. you can also make one yourself by cutting a piece of thin aluminum to the shape of the flange and drilling a small hole in it centered where the oil inlet is on the turbo.. Then use a gasket on both sides of the piece you made...

as a side note, a couple drops of oil leaked in to the front pipe will make a cloud of smoke the size of your car..
