Does any offer an upgrade for the 89-up Turbo II that looks like the factory turbo? Or perhaps uses a flange that will bolt to the factory exhaust manifold? I have searched all the links here, but I cant find anything. Any help is appreciated.

Why do you want one that "looks" like a stocker? They do make compressor upgrades that use the stock turbine housing, aka hyrbids. You can even get a bigger turbine put in, if you have the housing milled.

Who makes these Hybrids? I cant find anyone that sells a turbo like this. I am not very familiar with the RX-7 vendors. I have visited all the links provided by this site, but have not found any hybrids. A Garrett that mates to the stock turbine would be nice.

we did one with an 0 trim wheel in a stock s5 housing, it pulls hard. we looked at making an adaptor that put a t04 on an s5 manifold, but its just not practical

can u change the exhaust housing and the wheel as well?

the problem with a s5-> t04 adaptor is that it eliminates the wastegate, and if you put the wb on the adaptor it gets more complex than just making a good manifold |
mikey has done it all...

Ok, I saw some turbo called a BNR stage 1-2-3 ect. It was garrett stuff that used the factory turbine housing. But I cant find a vendor for the 2g cars. I need it to keep the internal gate. I dont care if it keeps the stock compressor housing, I just need an upgrade that bolts to the factory exhaust mani. This sort of turbo has to exsist somewhere..........

Appearantly I am lost. I went to the K2rd site. I couldnt find any turbo sales. They sell Haltech, but I failed to see anything regarding turbos.

Try these guys. I sent them a series 5 turbo they ported the waste gate and turned it into a hybrid T-04E. I got 243RWHP from it @ 9PSI. It spooled really fast I loved it. I sold it to Mazdadrifter he gets to love it now. |

Turbonetics makes Hybrid turbos for a FC. There are also many Garret upgrades out there. I have a Knight Sports and a Turbonetics upgrade turbine. They both are just compressor upgrades......well the Knight Sports has the turbine wheel cut back a tad but it bolts directly on to the stock manifold with stock water lines and all. I put down 340RWHP and just over 360 at the crank with that turnine on a stock engine.
How much money are you willing to put down for a turbine like this? KSP makes one that has a To4E wheel in it...its requires an extension for the manifold so the compressor housing will clear the intake mani but they guarantee me that it will make 400RWHP at 14PSI. Pan Speed sells a couple different hybrids that are all garrett wheels. Rmagic sells high flows that have "built in" external wastegates....these are all Turbonetics gates and compressors. These turbines sell in Japan for about 1000 to 1500 dollars a piece. If I remember the BNR turbines were much cheaper than this. I think with buying from Turbonetics or somewhere you could get a better price than what the Japanese charge especially since they all use american parts for their turbines anyway. |
BNR does not currently have a website, but you can call them.

What ever happened to free trade? anyways i've called around some turbo shops and they are like wtf are u talking about? All they say is drop off your turbo and we'll make you happy and decide what is best.... i'm kinda skeptical on that one. |

What are the dimensions of the factory wheels?
