IGY

I am sad https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

I have bought the turbo so will have to live with it for atleast a month...before i can order a new one which will take another month to be delivered .. No i am very very Sad https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Also what turbos would fit on this manifold? So that i only have to get a new turbo..

Also how much would this turbo produce at 10psi of boost..

One last question can i run this turbo at 10-12 psi without upgrading my secondary injectors.. i am using stock injectors..

Just have a Power fc...

Oh i know this is the O trim but how do i check if the a/r is .70 or .84?

I have attached a picture of the exhuast side of the turbo in an earlier post... i know the picture is blurred but can anyone make out the A/R?

Thanks alot

The wastegate on my T3/T4 has a stock boost setting of 3 1/2 psi, which is good, because I don't have a boost controller. My question is, what my current set-up, how much boost can I run safely?

I've heard SO many RX-7 owners diss electric fans, and mine is single at that. The temp gauge reads at about 1/3 the entire time. The other problem is, my 5th gear synchro is bad so I'm cruisin at like 3,500rpm in 4th gear just trying to keep up with traffic, i don't want to be pushing so much boost that my car's going to over-heat or anything.

My injectors I found out are stock S4 Turbo II injectors, but they have been blue-printed and balanced which makes them work more efficiently and flow fuel better. I dunno. o_O Help?

Ok, to figure out the AR look inside the turbo to manifold flange, there should be a number stamped into the housing. Pretty much any T4 based turbo will work as far as bolting up to the manifold(to4s,to4r,62-1,T66,T78 etc.), but the real question is how much clearance will there be when mounted to the motor. Yes, you can run stock injectors with that turbo to around 10-12psi with good tuning. I would recommend that you have an upgraded fuel pump.

In my opinion the O trim AR.70 exhaust side is going to offer quick response, but will choke the motor up top.

Alas your predictions are coming true IGY... I just took a run at 12 psi and it felt like choking after 6500 rpms..

Also i had wrapped the dump tube and the pipe from the manifold to the wastegate in glasswool with aluminum to insulate the heat... when i took the car out with the single turbo first time it gave some burning smell and white smoke which scared me but i popped the hood when i got a suitable place to park everything seemed ok... then i kept running 7.5 psi and no smoke.. but today i ran 12 psi for 2 runs and smoke can in from the firewall as i had forgot to put the rubber back in after i brought some wiring in from the engine.. i stopped after 3 mins and everything seemed ok but some burning smell.. what can it be?? does the glasswool doea this the first few time or will it keep doing it forever??

u can see the need for the insulation in the pic in my other post choking up top in the same forum...

thanks

Strange boosting problem..

Ok my car started boosting OK with this turbo under 6500 rpms the power was good.. but then i decided to ditch the midpipe and put in a resonator.. when i did that my car did'nt want to boost over 8psi max.. it would boost to 8 psi at aroun 3500rpms and then drop to 6 psi.. So i put the staright mid pipe back in without the resonator... the problem was still there

I came home and this morning checked to see what the problem could be... I checked the silicon hose from the turbo going to the intercooler was somewhat loose.. I mean if i pulled on it real hard it seemed little loose so i figured it cud be the reason.. So i tighten it.. took the car for a run now it started boosting till 9psi but then the same hesitation at 4500rpms+..

Then i increased the boost from the boost controller and now it would boost to 12psi but then the same thing at 4500rpms... Now it cannot be a boost leak can it.. cuz it does boost to 12psi everytime but starts hesitating at 4500rpms...

How can it be... it was fine 2 days back..

Also since its a right hand drive car the turbo is quite near me.. i can feel when it hesitates that boost is leaking from the silicon hose right off of the turbo..

Please help....
