That is turbonetics solution these days. Crank out as much turbos as possible to meet sales demands and make money at the cost of product quality. Then whenever somene complains they just fix it and send them a new one.



I would personally rather have a good turbo right off the bat. Turning wrenches all the time isn't the most fun thing to do.

I think you answered your own question...



Too much oil into the supply is almost as bad as too little. :(

Too much oil (pressure) tends to blow-by the turbine compression piston ring.

If you have taken the turbo apart, you'd understand what I'm talking about.

It takes very little to get oil to get past that compression ring.

A pressurized "crankcase" will also do the same thing.



It's more important to have a big oil drain.

You can restrict the oil supply pretty small before it starves the turbo bearings.

Remember, your FD is running very high stock oil pressures, so the restrictor becomes even more important.
