I agree with You Chris and You know alot more then I do but would You run a T-76 @15 PSI or a To4E @15PSI. I know about the advantages of single turbo setups or I would not have done it. I have tried both large single and small single turbos and just dont see the point of paying all the money for a fancy big turbo to run it at 15 PSI. I doubt You run Your car @15 any more and would never even bother to turn the boost that low as it is NOT fun anymore. I thought bigger was better but after I try a T-66 next year I will have a bit more knowledge as what I prefer on the street or the strip.

Also why would You run a large turbo @ 15PSI and spray? That is the point I was trying to make.

To each there own.

not to steal your thread but, what would be a good turbo (on a street ported fd) to top the car at about 500hp?

and out of the avalible canidates which spool faster?

Gotcha, your other post was slightly misleading in the way you worded it, lol, or it could be because I was tired as **** when I read it...

Now for your example in this post.. A To4e at say 15psi may only be putting down only 340hp, but if you use the same exhaust housing and say a P-trim wheel on a T76 compressor face you will have slightly more lag due to it having to turn the heavier compressor wheel, but you would have say possibly well over 400+ hp at the same boost due to the volume of air being moved at that same 15psi low boost. You have to be careful however because different turbo's, even though it may be physically bigger don't necessarily move more air at lower boost. Many of the larger turbo's like my T-70 are made to move more air at higher boost levels. I.e. my T-70 at 16-17 psi made about the same or a little less power than a very similar engined car with a To4S, but once the boost got turned up to around 22-23 psi things really turned around because it's just more efficient at higher boost than the S. The T-76 on the other hand is a very nice lower boost moves a lot of air turbo, so in your example of a big or small turbo boosting lower boost it's actually going to make a bigger difference in power.

I also very much agree with you that N20 is absolutely not needed if your not even using anywhere near the capability of your turbo yet, but in a N/A application I can see the need for it because that's the only way to make more power after you've done everything else. lol, I keep forgetting that they actually sold N/A FC's since they are all turbo over here...

we recently put together a car that put down 460 to the wheels with a TO4S boosting 17 psi, that would be a good choice, but a even better choice would be if you can find one of the old T67's that turbonetics used to sell. The To4R would also be good and you should be able to get to your 500 hp mark at around 21-22 psi or so. I'd try to find the T67 however due to it being able to flow more air at lower boost.
