anybody know the max hp of a T04E?..... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

jspecracer7 11-01-2002 06:13 AM

Power is dependent upon BOOST.

NEXT question:

What boost?

94touring 11-01-2002 06:16 AM

You will typically see between 375 and 400rwhp with 15psi and all of your other bolt ons and upgrades out of a t04e.

BUT...he has a piston powered car. Shouldn't that change? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

loi 11-01-2002 01:12 PM

at 15lb you should made over 400rwhp. my friend rick made 402rwhp with 14lb , but his motor has street port. i think the max will be around 500hp with 18lb pump gas?

SPOautos 11-01-2002 02:17 PM

15psi and 400rwhp is just a estimate.

Its going to depend on tuning, size of street port, ect, ect, ect

The difference in those two dyno numbers easily could have been from NUMEROUS things

its just a ball park, not a definate

Well if he wants to know what it will do on a piston engine, he's in the wrong place. But depending on porting (mild to wild), expect around 400ish rwhp @15psi. You're not going to see 500rwhp with that turbo, effeciency is going to run out around 18-20psi, you'll be lucky to make 450rwhp. Most turbos will make about the same amount of power @15psi, wether its a t04e or a t78. The only difference is after 15psi when you hit effeciency ranges of turbo's. However most people don't want to take the chance of losing motors running anything higher than 15psi, its very possible though with the right air/fuel and other tuning factors.

1bad180sx 11-03-2002 05:16 AM

400 and some change.... on an SR, Munki.

Dragon 11-03-2002 08:51 PM

just the right amount of power needed to break your little car Monkey butt... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif hope you've gotta good clutch..

JT-Imports 11-03-2002 09:09 PM

Yeah I dont see 500hp with a To4E, now with an R then OK. E maybe around 420-440 MAX. Im now somewhere between 400-450 with my E, no more upgrades to do. I have to get it dyno'ed but we will see what happens..

Rutt 11-03-2002 11:53 PM

ummmm... which T04E? 54 trim, 57 trim, 60 trim? Which exhaust housing and with what blade? O,P,Q?

Need more info!!!!

Munki4ce 11-04-2002 04:53 PM

Ar 60

N trim

Stock motor

Rutt 11-04-2002 11:38 PM

ditch the N trim and get an O trim. What will be your max boost? Will you be adding more fuel? What size exhaust?

Munki4ce 11-07-2002 04:12 AM

is O the next highest? I think its bigger than an N but its not an O. I have to check the turbin for the sizes when I get my car back. Right now the Apex-i guy (AKA the Miracle worker) is tuning it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

jspecracer7 11-07-2002 04:17 AM

There is no inbetween size!

LOL...wrong scale. If that was the case, then there would only be on t-04E size...but there isn't is there https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Dragon 11-07-2002 05:31 AM

S = standard

R = Racing

which one do you think is bigger.. ?

djgiantrobot 11-07-2002 10:25 AM

I don't think I would run a 60trim on the street with an SR, the 50 trim is going to be a much better wheel for you, especially with a stock motor. Fully done with a ported head and cams you might be able to put down about 500 engine, but you'd need a built motor for that.

Munki4ce 11-08-2002 07:21 AM

lol, I didnt know that about the R and S. You win............ this time......... :smirk:

loi 11-09-2002 12:17 AM

can you upgraded the E to the S and still using the same housing?

Munki4ce 11-09-2002 01:57 AM

no

You can use the E turbo and swap the compressor housing, wheel and back plate and you will have a S... A To4S is the same as a turbonetics 60-1 ...

loi 11-09-2002 12:24 PM

dragon, that's what i though.

thanks

Jims5543 11-09-2002 12:58 PM

Where is the best place to buy a T-04E?? I was looking at Rotormotorsports and their price looks decent considering you get a downpipe too.

Jims5543 11-09-2002 01:05 PM

Another question. I want fast spoolup and around 300-350 RWHP I will sacrifice RWHP for spoolup if I have to. What trim should I run. Stock FD engine with the intake match ported. 3" exhaust.

Sorry!! One more question I am running this w/ a Haltech. What size injectors should I run?

Thanks for the help guys!! I am a newbie when it comes to FD's I know a lot about FC's though but THAT is not helping me now is it??

loi 11-09-2002 01:45 PM

jims,

the t04e wil do fine with that kind of power range you want. I saw as much as 380plus with stock motor. pm me, i give you a good price on the kit.

the stock injectors will be fine, I would upgrade to a Walboro 255lph fuel pump to be on the safe side.. A To4E with a P trim A/R .84 exaust and A/R 60 E compressor will do exactly what you want and you should be able to get the HP you want at about 1 kgcm / 14.7 psi of boost..

Munki4ce 11-09-2002 07:13 PM

i thought he meant same compressor housing

The way he stated the question it did seem like that to me also.. but I just figured I'd tell him how he could make the E in to a S.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Jims5543 11-10-2002 02:17 PM

Thank you all for all your help. I knew I could get some good answers here.

I already have a Nippondenso HiPo fuel pump. Capable of 400 RWHP.

Thank you again!!!

Munki4ce 11-11-2002 04:53 AM

he must have meant same center housing or exhaust housing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

okisil80 11-14-2002 09:23 AM

Munki they just mess with you cause they have piston envy. dont worry dragon one day youll be able to beat that damn SR. :yum:

in2twins 11-17-2002 12:16 PM

Built motor, TO4S .60 comp. .81ar O trim =430-450rwhp @18-19psi CAREFULLY tuned on race gas. This is my set up. I am looking to upgrade now... I want a turbo that is capable of 550-600rwhp. I am considering a GT35/40 except I have yet to see any dynos over 450 with that turbo. Others I am looking at, straight GT40 .77 inducer, .82 exducer, T66 1.00ar Q trim, TO4R (specs?) . This car is for road race not drag. I will be above 4000 all the time so lag is an issue, but not a big issue. Comments? Carl

vosko 11-17-2002 12:18 PM

you need a BIG turbo...... i'd say T66 or T70. if you dont' want a GT turbo.....
