Will let you know in a few weeks. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I have all the faith in Kan's tuning abilities and can't wait for him to come down and do our cars.
|
I heard he does some excellent tuning...will never know for sure unless I get something tuned by him.Hope all goes well with the tuning of your car badass7.
|
Steve has played with my car twice and I've always enjoyed dealing with him. I also set up a group tune for him here in Birmingham where he tuned around 6 cars. I sat in the car with him a lot of the time and watch/talk to him about everything. He's a excellent person to have tune your car and he'll also tell you what he's doing and discuss things with you.
Very stand up guy with excellent ability....I HIGHLY suggest everyone using him, its the best money you'll spend on your car. In addition its cheap at $300+dyno time......hell, thats one of the cheapest "mods" I did to my car lol Its hard for me to understand why people will pay $1500 to drop thier charge temps but wont pay $500 to have thier car tuned lol *** ALSO - according to Steve as of early December out of all the cars he has tuned there has only been one pop and it was NOT due to tuning. The customer had a manual boost controller and wanted to turn the boost up 1-2psi but it instantly skyrocketed to well over 20psi and that was that. STEPHEN |

Hwy. 3127 @ Hwy. 20 to Oak Alley Plantation exit is clean. It's apparently clean from 20 to St. Charles parish. But, that's too far from Thibodaux.
|
I recomend him also, he's a great guy. I've never had a chance to let him tune my car becuase it seems like every time he makes around this area, something happens to it.
|
I was very pleased with the tunning he did on my car. The 467 RWHP wasn't bad either... just wish my fuel pump wasn't running out of steam :( might have made more;) I'd recomend him to anyone.
|
How often does this guy come around to tune cars?I want him to tune my car sometime in the future. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
|
I highly reccomend him also. He's a really good guy. Not only does he do a great tuning job, he takes the time to talk to you about what you want the car to do, how much you are willing to push the tuning, and while tuning he will tell you exactly what he is doing, and the effect it has on the car.
When I did my new engine and single setup the car ran OK, after steve tuned it, the car was a ******* beast. So not only do you get a quality car tuning, you get some education on the whole tuning process, and how it effects your specific vehicle. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |

From what I understand he's still tuning out of Gotham Racings shop in Watuaga, TX... I've heard he travels.. but is he even on this board? I've also heard nothing but great things about his work and his car sounds like a chainsaw on PCP... sick sick ****...
|
Well it looks like Steve Kan will be doing RX7 tuning at the Rotary Revalution event on a first come first serve basis.See you people there.
|
queston? whats the highest horse power anyone has seen from a Steve Kan tuning?

I have a vid of him killing that Supra in the 1/4, he ran something like 10.8 on a stock looking wingless BB FD. SIck vid, it's old too.

steve visited wisconsin last summer and i not only enjoyed meeting him but was impressed with the fact that he was really interested in each car he tuned rather than just going thru the motions for a paycheck. i had done some minor tuning on dick lambert's rx6 and it was in the ballpark afr's-wise but wasn't really a rip your head off runner that it currently is after steve got thru tuning it. dick just acquired a newly built 95 20-b that is wickedly fast and it will really be something to drive after steve tunes it this spring.

Well, after a mild street port engine build / T-60 single turbo conversion both done by David Bigger of Orlando and yesterday's Steve Kan New Orleans tuning session car pulls like a mofo.
Steve tuned the car to 16.7 psi and on the ride back ran up against my bro's '03 996 TT X50 and we were dead even from 3rd gear 60 mph to 120 mph ! Now that's what I call a good engine build and Excellent tuning ! Steve's New Orleans tuning session was without a doubt a huge success. He came down and tuned 6 cars and provided every one of us with nothing but top notch service. He answered any questions we had and walked us through every step of his tuning. Roads that were scoped out by our Houma guys (Mark White) were absolutely PERFECT ! Nothing but clear roads that stretched for at least 4 miles each way. Steve's tuning was absolutely $$ well spent. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
Tuning session was great. I was amazed to see the multiple setups on the cars that showed up. One thing about tuning your car to the optimum is you will find out if your set up is made to handle it. There were a couple of cars that when the tuning was on and you’re doing flat out 4th gear runs.... weakness will show.
Steve was extremely personable and still got the guys setup for the maxximum real street/strip performance. Unfortunately I will have to drive to Ft.Worth to get tuned because my car wasn’t ready but it will still be worth it. (Plus Steve and I have a lot of road race friends in his area that I can kill time with) Thanks to Ted Alvendia (President ,7's On the Shore)of New Orleans and the organizer of this. A++++++++++++ http://ourworld.cs.com/_ht_a/talvendi/index.htm |
For those people going to the Rotary Revolution Mr. Steve Kan will be there himself tuning sevens on a first come first serve basis.See ya there. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Thanks Ted, Freddie and Celeste, Art, and Jack for helping make the session possible and pleasant. As Art says, the tuning certainly helps to sort out any setup in the car and in your head. My FD runs fantasic and Kan's tuning the most important "equipment" on the car.
|
hey dude its me!
|
who's the cute asian boy?
|
Yep, Steve Kan will be tuning during the Rotary Revolution 2004 this April 30th - May 2nd. And the best part is if you signup and pay before March 1st it'll be only $250 which is lower than his normal rate!
For more information visit the Revolution forum area on this site or the official website at: http://revolutionmktg.net/Revolution |

thanks to all who complemented my tuning. I saw on the poll that there were 3 people that blew their engines with my tuning. Maybe those people could speak up so i know who you are and try to figure out what I did wrong since I have never heard anything from any of you.
|
Probably people randomly voting cause they have nothing better to do and don't even own rx-7s...

I was going to say where are those 3 blown engine owners, that won't speak up.
In our RX7 community, we are very happy to blame and point fingers immediately when something goes wrong. So the fact that there is some negative voting without any facts on a thread or pure silence, has no validity on my book. Most likely the negative voters are competitors and/or people that can't afford him and are just plain jealous. I yet have to hear of an engine that Steve blew while tuning. I know that this will happen eventually, but the facts are yet to be heard. In the mean time for the haters https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...doublebird.gif |
