Looks pretty trick in the engine bay. It looks like that manifold should flow fairly well, especially at higher pressure.

I'm curious how you're going to route the compressor outlet hose to the intercooler. Maybe the angle of the pic makes it look off, but it looks like a serious bend is in order to mate the intercooler piping that hooks over the radiator to the compressor outlet. Not much room to twist the compressor housing either.

A heatshield for the downpipe/turbine housing would be nice, especially the downpipe. Try to keep the heat down and away from the engine bay, especially the tranny cooler lines. Also, there'll be some heat coupling from the turbo to the water filler neck assembly.

Did you weld the oil cooler bracket or support pieces? It looks pretty nice.

Good job thus far!

Make sure the AEM EMS has the right orientation for the throttle signals. In the AEM BBS, there is a sticky on the throttle signals with earlier models.

Thanks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png The turbo to intercooler connection looks worse than it is. It will be a pretty substantial bend but won't be too bad at all.

The water neck will have a heatshield between it and the turbo but i haven't planned on doing a shield for the downpipe. It's going to be 4 1/2" SS so it won't get as hot as the smaller thicker metals....or so i ass/u/me.

I didn't weld any of the stuff because my tig skills leave much to be desired. I can birdshit weld the hell out of a mig though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif I designed everything on the car and help with every aspect of the build except for the welding.

The AEM will be tuned by Jason S. who is the main aem tuner so we shouldn't have too many problems. Of course i say that now......but we all know how things always work out with no snags right? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

Where can i get the lower part of inlet manifold. Is there a matching top which uses factory throtle body?

There is one going off on ebay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEBI%3AIT or you can try http://www.a-spectuning.com/ look under built rotary engines they sell for $525usd. Hope that helps.

does aspec tuning make the manifold?

Awsome set up.

How did you mate the TH350 to the rotary?

They make an adapter plate.

setzep 06-05-2005 01:43 PM

IC, I guy I know has a th350 behind his 351 ford. He cut the bell housing off a ford trans and welded it to the th350. Crazy guy.. He did that because his brother knows a th350 in and out but apparently doesn't know much about ford transmissions.

silvr94r2 06-07-2005 01:23 AM

I'm actually a little partial to Fords as i have a Mustang but i think the TH350 will go far beyond the C4. Maybe a baby C6 would be nice but rebuild it once or twice a year.....no thanks.

Mating the 350 to the rotary is done by a custom adapter plate that we have. It's a pain in the ass sorting it out but once it's done it should be great.

Not mine if that's what your asking. We did both the turbo and intake mani's.
