I got the DEI kit from summitracing.com There was enough material there to do 2 of my t04r's. How good it looks all depends on your skill level. Have yet to start the car so cant tell yeah how good it works, but I think it will make a big difference in under hood temps.

hey paco, i saw your downpipe, and i think you have to worry more about wrapping that than the exhaust manifold on your turbo.... your dp is not even 1" away from your LIM!!! and your engine retained all that heat, we couldnt touch it for a good 20 mins,

I am pretty hooked on the Heatshield Products unit. It is available with or without the downpipe wrap too. Plus it is less money than the DEI unit. I have installed quite a few of these, and they work really well. It's good to 1800F continuous, so that should cover most peoples turbo's!

http://www.speedmachineperformance.c..._turbo_kit?b=1 if you want more info The pictures shown that Heatshield uses is of one that we installed.

on that website it says the wrap 'keeps turbo spooled up'

sorry I just think that's kind of silly

Again I ask the question: wouldn't that build up more heat in the turbo and have some sort of negative effect on it?

You arent really building heat in the turbos,

You are keeping the heat (energy) in the exhaust stream. The theory goes if you can keep all the heat energy in the exhaust stream you will get the full benifit, such as lower underhood temps and faster spool time. Doubtful that spool time will be seriously noticeable.

But every bit helps. I might look into it after we're finished with ours.

if you havent finished your car yet... you might wanna send your turbine housing to j9fd3s or jet hot for some performance coating, thats the best thing to do for now, then if you're still not satisfied, get the turbo wrap
