im thinking about taking my turbo off to smooth out the inside of the "snail"...

but is this worth it?

the inside of the turbo feels rougher than the outside where i can reach my fingers. and the exhaust side is like sand paper. im sure if i was to smooth them out, i would have a quicker spool from the exhaust side, and smoother output from the cold side. resulting in quicker throttle response.

anyone done this and had noticable difference?

Their are small benefits to be had.

Use a process called extrune honing. Youll pick some hp and better boost response.
