Just curious, how long do you think a Peripheral ported engine with a T66 turbo would last. And What would be some drawbacks to this. Im doing a lot of research on setups and i might build my engine as well as a seperate "prototype" engine so to speak which will be a peripheral ported engine but will be turboed. I dont know what turbo would be good to run with this setup, but i would say something like a t66 or larger (T04R/T51). Im curious as to what the specs might be on it such as power, etc. I would also like to know what you guys think i would need for this setup to run properly.

Search around. Judge Ito has a thread about one. It made something sick like 630 to the wheel on low boost.

Definately not a street application though. BTW, you are gonna need something alot bigger then a T66 to reach the full potential of the motor.

yeah, the pp has a lot of overlap so the key is low exhaust restriction. the ideal setup would be BIG on the exhaust side, either 2xt4's or a big t51/ta45

For whatever its worth to you, I've seen two drag only cars turbo boost the PP. One was Sammy Benitez in the Mothers Performance 91 RX-7 (20B 7.4 @ ?) And the new project on the scene, Jose and Carmelos "El Duke" RX-3 (13B 8.7 @ ? on an easy pass). The RX-3 looks to have more than T-70 and the RX-7 turbo is so big it could be used at a meat processing plant! (lol) Sammy operates a performance shop & store on rte. 46 in north NJ, look him up. Good luck!

do you think it would be smart for a street setup? It wont be technically the "daily driver" more along the lines of harcore racing on the street. Its just a prototype and im just wondering. If its not a bad idea, im going to do a bunch of things.

on the street you have a turbo so you can leave the porting mild and still make good numbers, if you pp you need to basically go all out other wise, it wont make power or be very streetable. ive never driven a pp, but i have driven a bp and you need to keep the revs over 4-5k before it will cruise smoothly.
