I was told to run oil thats "lighter" than the 20 / 50 I am using now , something like a 5W 30 or a 20W 40 oil to prevent my oil pressure from going too high and leaking out the back of my turbo (supplier said the turbo WILL leak at 105+ psi oil pressure) , I now run 9000rpm @ 15psi boost and would like to get up to 10,500 rpm @ 25- 28 psi boost , what do you guys think?.

Just run 20w50 and make sure you have the proper size oil restrictor in your turbo inlet line.

I've always run 15W30 Mobil 1 super synthetic. Anyone see a problem with the weight I've been using. If you do, please speak up so that I'll know better next time! Thanks in advance.

20w50 has served me well so far....Castrol GTX "Drive Hard" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png

20w50 works best in my experience. The 10w30 is too thin for a modded car and should only be used in the winter when it is really cold. That and the fact that our cars like to dilute and thin out the oil with gas...

castrol 20W50 is good stuff... especially because my oil thins so easily. It always smells like gas and is black even when ichange it out monthly.

I switched to 15W40 shell rotella for a while... i just exhausted 3 cases worth so now i think i'll switch back to castrol GTX

somone told me 15W40 contains a lot of detergents since its a diesel oil, it causes the viscousity to break down faster and drop your oil pres a bit? i'm kinda skeptical on that info but apparantely that is what a shell rep told him... i'll take it iwth a grain of salt

10w-30 castrol
