[quote name='1Revvin7' date='Feb 14 2005, 09:51 PM']And with the space restrictions it can't really be done, if large turbos are used. I specifically remember RiceRacing I believe it was saying he didn't notice any difference, and I quote," the exhaust pulses come out like Mike Tyson".

I have to disagree with you on this. Rice Racing specifically said that it DOES matter that they are equal length. Actually it matters ALOT. That's the whole reason that manifolds like this are expensive it b/c people are paying for equal length. If it's not equal, then what's the point over cast? That is the point and it makes perfect sense if you think about wanting the energy pulses to be distributed at even intervals about the turbine wheel. Kinda like saying a bicycle would work the same if the cranks were oriented 90degrees from one another as opposed to 180.

As for not being possible? Again not true. My manifold as are many othes, is exactly the same length to within less than 1%. I can tell you this because it was computer designed. Now I understand that manufacturing tolerances will make this a little less... but a CNC bent tube will be very close to the original model so it's gonna be close at least with 5%.

I don't mean to crap on your thread, but I really feel that you are giving mis information here.

Respectfully,

Chris

I said from what I have gathered, I didn't say there was any proof to the statement nor did I say it was a fact. I do however plan on finding out on the dyno. No offense taken though, I too discourage misinformation, maybe I should not have said that..

Anyhow the FC unit is done, I will have pictures sometime next week.

I'm dying to see some graphs showing a side by side comparison of the difference in power and spool characteristics between a manifold with equal length runners and one without. Sure the logic is there but people act like its the determining factor between winning and losing..

The HKS manifold has a notch cut out to equalize the runners.. why?
