It cost about the same as buying 2 MSD DIS2 boxes and 4 DIS coils.

You still need the igniters right?

Not with a Haltech. Don't know about with a stock ECU.

So if the trailing has little effect on spark, why amplify all of them. Is it some marketing gimmick or what.

Lots of...weird...facts being thrown out there, but I dunno if it makes sense to most people.

I bet the Jacobs box got fried cause the two coils (wired in parallel) was too high of a load (i.e. low resistance / impedence) from the coils.

Check the manufacturer specs - certain CDI boxes can only go so low.

Stock FC coils are like 0.4-ohms and really on the high end in terms of resistance.

There are aftermarket coils that are well under 0.1-ohms, and running them in parallel really makes them scary for certain CDI boxes due to running almost like a dead short!

If anything you can measure the resistance over the parallel'd coils to see if they meet minimum CDI box output resistance specs...

After talking to other folks about the wastespark (leading) twin tower coil design, it's really a handicap at very high boost / power levels.

Due to the uneven loads (one under compression, the other into heavily ionized exhaust), the spark generation is uneven in the motor.

I'd prefer running at least a single coil into each leading spark plug...

Yeah, that's what happened the first time. Now, I run PFC > ignitor > FC1000 x 2 (parallel) > LX91 > NGK 9.

That would be the LX92 coils for sure.

OK, I shall do that and post the findings. Thanks for your input.

While talking to Wayne at M&W this is what he reccomended for what I wanted to do. I wanted to do 4 coils and run direct fire anyway.
