LOW BOOST (SOLVED)
#1
I'm posting this because maybe it will help someone else.
After my motor rebuild, my motor just wouldn't boost. 3-5 PSI MAX. I rebuilt the turbo, replaced the fuel pump (I needed to anyway) stuck a camcorder under the hood and went for a drive to watch the fuel pressure gauge. Presssure was GOOD.
So today I found an article on making a PLUG and connecting it to an air compressor to check for leaks. Sure enough, Every single one of my hose clamps was leaking. Then I found a HUGE leak under my throttle body and a ripped gasket was the cause. I carefully cut a new one and took it for a spin..
WOW..
17+ PSI of boost. And it pulls like a freight train. I've got a spool in the rear and went right through 1st and 2nd gear with full tire spin, I had to let up. It finally feels faster than my 350z.
I hope to get it to the drags in a couple of weeks to see how it will do. I'm thinking 12's but hoping for a high 11.
