Is it me or are there too many people that ignore the rx7 "Rules" than there is those that follow...?



This may be TOO much of a generalization but:



To keep your rotary lasting long, whether its on stock twins or a big single...You *must* keep your fuel/air mixture from becoming lean/rich.



This would mean proper fuel and ECU mods as you upgrade right? Right.



Now, Lately...I read of people asking how much they can *push* without upgrading fuel (is it THAT expensive?) or an ECU and such....



A large part of the rotary reputation is based on engines that fail because of a poor mix am I right?



So why aren't these guys with enough $$$ to buy a single able to afford or comprehend buying the surrounding parts?



I don't think I'll ever go single, but for the sake of people calling rotary's crappy engines...I just think sometimes we ignore the rules.



Is this a right assumation to make?

Depends on the person. I ran 550cc/1680cc's on my non-sequential setup for awhile before going big single, then later super big single. I am actually at the ragged edge of fuel myself...but I think dual walboro's will solve all my fuel issues.

There just isn't any room to go lean on rotaries plain and simple. You can't get away with a ping now and then, the apex seals blow before you know it. That added with the fact turbo charged rotaries don't have a huge life span, even in the stock form compared to other stock turbo charged cars. Not many people know much about rotaries and what it takes to keep them running healthy, so thats where the stereotype comes into play. My 2 cents.

Is call ignorance, they want to go fast fast.



Is just like the rice kids. they put in some NO2 to their civic and break the car in less than a week and go back crying back home to mommy.

Throw 1680's into the primary spot!

Well, it's hard to get a 13B-rew to idle with Power FC and only a side port motor with 1680cc injectors in the primary. If I was bridgeported, it would work...but I can't run the injector duty low enough to make it work on just a sideport.

Is that just a limitation of the PFC? Alot of people do it with the Haltech and Wolf.

Ok now I have a question...I have a 13b-re cosmo I'm swaping into an fc..I plan on using my stock 550 primaries and I've already bought a fuel rail and 2 1600 cc secondaries..I will be running a turbonetics t04e at around 14-17 psi on the high side and around 8-10 psi on the low side...I will be using a xs fuel pressure reg. and a wal. 255 lph fuel pump. I was just wondering if it will be enough fuel

Might possibly be. The information I have is not from first hand knowledge, but from speaking with IGY about it(he went from bridgeport back to sideport). I remember him saying it was difficult to run the PFC at 1000 rpms and at the right duty cycle to keep the plugs from fouling out/idling.
