You have a 20 PSI spring in your wastegate?

No, just a 10psi minimum, but I run 20psi with only one line.... I was curious on those 2 lines https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I couldn't read Japanese on the directions and really knew that the HKS w/g ran one line, but just had to see...I drove it down the block and back and it didn't make the w/g noise so I thought......hmmmmmm? and then had to ask

If you get 20 psi from a 10 psi wastegate, you have a MAJOR boost control problem. If everything was working right and sized correctly, your boost shouldn't rise much above 10 psi with only the side port connected.



I could see you getting 20 psi with both lines running to the manifold like you described in your first post...

So what is the correct way to have the lines? and if I had only the side port to the manifold why would it only be 10psi minimum?

If you don't have an electronic boost controller, you would only connect to the side port, connecting the line between the turbo and throttle body.



A 10 psi wastegate spring begins to open before you get to 10 psi, hopefully so it will be open enough to prevent you from going over 10 psi. If it is big enough to flow enough exhaust, you shouldn't creep beyond 10 psi, no matter how much load or how high RPM you go.



What turbo system do you have? I'm assuming it's an HKS kit, because of the HKS wastegate?

The turbo is a Garrett T60-1 .70 comp. w/ 1.15 A/R



But if the manual (turbo XS) control is @ say, 13psi the spring still starts to open @ 10psi minimum but it will continue because of the control

OK, you didn't say you had a boost controller. With a manual boost controller, the wastegate still starts to open before your setpoint, but not much. You can raise the setpoint quite a bit above the wastegate spring. It connects in the hose to the side of the wastegate and restricts the amount of boost the wastegate sees. The wastegate still sees 10 psi as its opening point, but the boost in the manifold is really 13 psi, or 20 psi, or whatever.
