HKS Standard Wastegate
#1
Ok, on the HKS standard wastegate it has two ports. The side one is is hooked up to the manifold so it can see vac and pressure. This one operates the spring inside so it can control boost depending on the spring.
Now to the top port. How does that work? Does it use manifold pressure to push agaist the other port? What is it doing inside? I know this port hooks up to a elect boost solenoid but how about a manual boost controller?
I hooked up my manual boost controller to the top port and I was able to lower my boost lol? I want to raise it, or at least get boost to come up sooner.
So can anyone explain what i'm doing wrong?

Actually you are going to run a vacume hose from the piping to the side of the wastgate.. Now your going to run anouther vacume hose from the piping to the VVC on the in side and anouther hose from the VVC out side to the top of the wastgate... Basicly how this works is there is a spring on the back side of the diaphram on the wastgate... If you have a .8kg spring it takes .8kgs of boost to push the spring back and open the wastgate. When you adjust the VVC to put .2kgs of boost to the back side of the wastgate you get a .8kg spring + .2kg's of boost pressure = 1.0kgs... Now the boost has to climb to 1.0kgs to open the wastgate... If you have any more questions just ask..
