hi everyone. I've been searching for over a week and I cant find anything related to my problem. I have a 93 FD with single T-60, SDS EM2 computer, modified ECU, DP, MP, and XS engineering FMIC. I just installed a fluidyne radiator and I redid my pipes for the FMIC. I know I have a boost leak coming from the turbo to the IC, so I'm going to fix that soon. also my battery died so I had to get a new one.

after I was done with my project, I took it out for a spin. I boosted to only 2-3 lbs and I let go the gas pedal. I noticed that the gas pedal was still depressed and car just kept on going. I put it in neutral and the RPMs were bouncing off the rev limiter. so I just shut her off. first thing I checked was the throttle cable and it had enough slack. then I checked the throttle plates, thinking that it was stuck open, but that was also fine. then I towed the car to my friends house. the next morning, the RPMs werent bouncing off the rev limiter but it was still high - around 3k.

I talked to some people and they suggested the UIM and LIM gaskets. I just replaced them and I still have a high idle of 3k. If I just let it sit, I could hear the turbo spooling. does anyone have any suggestions on what could be the problem? thanks.

hrm.. did you put a towel or anything in the intercooler to keep **** out while you were making your new intercooler pipes that you then forgot to pull out and it now has been sucked in to the throttle body and intake manifold? it'll hold the throttle body open and it'll cause you to not be able to boost well from the blockage...

The first time I rebuild mine I had a simlar problem, the butterflies where stuck open. Just looking at them you couldn't tell, I only found out after I ripped everything apart. Cleaned all the B.S that was in there and was good to go, good luck.

this past weekend I ripped apart my intake manifolds, throttle body, and throttle elbow to clean them out and replace the gaskets. I thought I had something stuck in there but I double checked everything and nothing.

a friend of mine suggested the throttle cable being too tight. I played with that a bit and it looked like it had enough slack. what if I just play around the with the screws on the throttle body? I also noticed that the dashpot isnt touching anything (the white tip) but will this cause the high idle?

There is a little recess in the bottom side of the elbow that attaches to the Throttle body. This recess is there so you can stick a -- screwdriver in to the throttle body to adjust a air jet. Turn the air jet in all the way and then reset you computer by taking off the + wire and pushing the brake pedal. Then reconect the battery. You may have to adjust the idle by the throttle linkage a little and the computer will have to relearn idle, but this should cure your problem..

The way you say this makes me think you've done this before

When I was making my exhaust manifold I had a paper towel in each exhaust port to keep **** out... Well... forgot about those paper towels and cranked the engine Nothing happened though, I remembered they were in there a couple days later and pulled them out

I remember someone had a t-shirt sucked into their engine. the shirt almost survived but his engine and turbos didnt.

speaking of sucking stuff into engines...I read this off another forum, I think VW or some euro, where some kid tried to port his engine himself. instead of taking out his engine....he thought that if his engine sucked up sand and rocks, it will go through and port his engine and it will come out the exhaust. his friend stuck the intake pipe in a bucket of sand and after 20 minutes his car died. in his post he was asking why did his car die and why was it acting weird a few minutes before it went kapoot. he really thought it would work.

but I will try and reset my ECU tomorrow. thanks for the help.
