anyway...here's my delemma. i'm soon to have a streetported REW in my FC, i was going to put a stock upgrade turbo on it. until i began to think that i should go ahead and get something bigger as a "just in case" type thing....and i know it's more reality than chance that i'll be using it...

i'll just go ahead and say that i'd like to hit 430 rwhp eventually??....i've heard that a T04S would work to do this....i'd like to start with maybe 300 rwhp?? do you all think that the T04S would be a good choice for me? looking on phoenixturbo.com i see that i have several options. what options would i be best with? there is a trim option O and a P and my choice of T4 turbine housing.....being that i am so uneducated about turbo's and sizing and applications...and such...i really have no clue as to what i'd really be best with.

I would read a bit more and learn more. You have no place building a 400hp car if you don't know these things. That is unless you can pay someone else to do it for you, in which case your not really building the car, just driving.

i have a very good understanding of the workings of the car and the rotary engine....i'm doing all the work myself except the acctual motor porting and assembly because one...i'm lazy...and two i found a very good deal on the motor i'm getting....the only thing i don't understand is the sizing of the turbo's in enough detail to know what i'd be best off with....understand that i'm not out to have a 400 hp car right off the bat....hell i didn't even want the 300 until recently....and before that it was just going to be a stock rebuilt TII....then the REW was mention'd to me at, what i feel to be, a very good price...then it was one thing after another....

Are you aware of all that will need to be done to put a REW in a TII?

If turbo sizing is all your wondering about I would say call Garret or Turbonetics or some other well known motorsports shop and ask them.

Well your aware that there is a large list. Hopfully you realise how much work/fabbing will actualy be required to knock down everythign ont he list. That is why Ted said its not worth it, the gains do not outweight the effort required. But if you got a good deal and are willing to do that work I wish you good luck.

Don't listen to any of these guys hey if you have the money and means go ahead and do your conversion. It's a waste of time to put a REW in an FC then it's a bigger waste of time of putting a REW in my Datsun 1200. Wasn't to difficult to do it and yes I did it myself. Look to Precision Turbo for turbo needs give them a call and tell them what your setup is and they'll work something out for you or you can jump on their site and shoot them an e-mail they respond pretty quickly. Turbonetics can help out too but their customer service kind of sucks. Try this place also http://www.speedmachineperformance.com/home they are an internet store/retailer that deals with rotary. Look around this site and others there are plenty people out there with similar setups that your trying to do. It amazes me how people tell others that it's a waste of time and you probably don't know what your doing. Instead of helping them out with a little direction. I didn't know much of rotarys and turbos when I got my first turbo rotary which was a RX3. Never even had a turbo car before and I still bought it and that car was the greatest teacher for me. You have to start somewhere and it may cost you if you don't know what your doing but hey at least you learn how to do things yourself.

The venerable Garrett 60-1 with q trim wheel in a 1.15a/r housing , will suit your needs fine . It all demends on your budget , you can even get the newer GT3540R turbo , as I aid it all depends on how much you can spend.

im currently in the process of installing a gt35r in my fd. after alot of research i decided that it was the best turbo for what i do with my car. you have to ask yourself what your needs are. street/strip, road coarse, full out drag or whatever.

all i have to say is "GO BALLBEARING". it's more money but well worth it...
