I'm going to be tackling the a TII swap into my s4 this summer. Purchasing engine and trans from fc3s, going to be rebuilt, streetported, 80psi OPR, stock 2mm 3 piece seals. I'm looking at turbos, new territory for me when it comes to different turbines, etc, and how the effect turbo performance (ie lag, etc). I was looking at the Garrett T3/60-1. I'm looking for something that will work for street/strip, moderate spool up time, and something that can run moderate boost levels efficiently.
http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/88marx7ust3.html Do you think this will work.......I'm going to be using my never before tuning skills with an E6k most likely. Setup.. 13BT rebuilt, ported stock primaries, 1600cc secondaries E6K Greddy FMIC Basically any help, links reccomendations, to any turbo that would work with me. high 300rwhp to low 400rwhp is my goal. Thanks. |
So thats a t3 exhaust side with a 60-1 compressor wheel?? Well I do know T3s are too small for rx-7s. Get a t04E off ebay for cheap, I just saw a brand new one for $425.

Yeah thats a honda turbo. Way too small
|
I've had many people tell me that..but look at the link..he made decent power. I agree on it being to small though. I'm thinking of a T4 60-1 .96 a/r

1.15 a/r and w/ptrim exhaust wheel..how about the p trim??? And I want to run a undivided exhaust manifold b/c of $$ reasons mostly...but that turbo is divided..will it work fine? |
1.15 is a little big probably, but don't let that change your mind. P trim is good
|
When do you think full boost would be seen...street port..exhaust ports opened up a bit.
What about the undivided turbo used with a non divided manifold?? Thanks. |
T3 is too small, go with the t4. 60-1 P trim 0.70 compressor and 1.00 exhaust is a nice setup for the street. If you go with a 1.15 on the hot side think about going with a divided exhaust, should help with spool up. You'll see 15psi around 3500rpms either way.

Thanks for the info man..rotaryrocket is now me by the way..
