can some1 give some good reason as why i should not buy an EGT gauge/probe over a wideband o2 sensor. Can't i tune accurately with either? doesn't the wideband o2 sensor burn out quickly? Why should i pay so damn much more for a wideband o2?

the wideband is ACCURATE.... you are guessing with JUST a EGT gauge....

I had an EGT gauge. It gave me an average temp because it reacted too slow. I suggest suing a wide band O2 sensor.

all the EGT tells is you is the exhaust temp. it doesn't tell if you are running rich or lean!!!!

you can but you are guessing what the a/f is. some people say xxxx is 11.5 to 1 AFR.... when it could be very lean...... just get a wideband... all you will do with a EGT is stare it at and go oooooh ahhhh

Exactly...

I'm not saying that they are completely useless.... but you'll find a lean condition much faster and safer with a wideband O2 than an EGT (which you probably won't even find).

Spend the money... I PROMISE you won't regret it. It's awesome to be able to fine tune as you're driving down the highway.... It's like being on the dyno all the time (without the $100/hr fee).

I love mine and I'll never be without one again on any forced induction car.

even tuning my idle with the wideband made it 100000000 times easier!!!
