turbocharged rotary - intercooler = boom

boom + water injection = negative boom

no matter how you put it boom is in the equation

FikseRxSeven 08-29-2003 10:09 PM

i think intercooler is worth the lag...... dont be dumb, spend your money on a decent intercooler first..... thats if you even have an rotary car

Cost me around 13k for parts and Labor. I bought the best of everything. You can do it for half that will lower end stuff.

I would agree guys. If he wants to run minus an intercooler then it's his engine he's risking. He might actually get it to work. I doubt that it will, but that's just my opinion. Stranger things have happened. Now then, back on topic. My price list for the single conversion is sitting just under $12K. But like others have stated, that's all top of the line equipment. I hope that this is helping you out some. Laterz.

If you want a cheap way of doing single turbo, you can put a TO4 comp wheel on a S5 turbo, which sits on the standard S5 exhaust manifold in the engine bay. A little stuffing around with a few pipes (no more than a couple of hundred bucks for a shop to do) and some exhaust work. I made up a custom huge 3 inch plus dump pipe off the back of my turbo.

You can get a Microtech plug in computer here in Oz which retains all the factory computer goodies but adds the tuneability you need, or go Apexi PowerFC. The fuel system can actually cope with a reasonable power hike- you can add a fuel pressure regulator as well.

On a budget, my single turbo is costing less than AUS$1500 plus about the same for the computer.

Just a cheap way to do it? This way, it still looks reasonably factory complete with airbox (which ain't that bad and gets cool air) and air pump. Reduces the risk of manic traffic cops pulling out their ticket books...
