I know going single costs alot. How much roughly?
Also what are the parts and things one must aquire and do to go single? |
a single turbo "kit" will range between $3-5k
fuel upgrades $500 ecu/electronic upgrades $1-2k intercooler$500-1500 yeah, worth every penny though! |
Well depending on your setup and what you like, going single will cost you like 8-10k, and thats with all new top of the line performance parts and turbo kit, etc.
|
i spent about 9grand doing all the work myself and with a few friends. that doesnt include the clutch .. just the engine stuff and computers

intercooler$500-1500 lol, no intercooler for me. Water Injection all the way. Produces MUCH better resolts, cuts down on turbo lag (since no intercooler = chorter pathfor air), if used 50/50 water/methanol alcohol it also cleans the engine from carbon deposits and I hear because alcohol burns slow it adds to torque. But yeah, more on this in the water injection thread. yes it does seem to be worth every penny, now I just have to save up all my pennies https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png |
NO intercooler? Do you plan on driving the car much??
|
hmm....at first i thouhgt he meant no IC upgrade....but then it seems like NO IC
its gonna pop...low boost like 4-5 psi no IC is okay...but im sure if ur running a single ull want more than that.....and even with WI ull pop that engine so quickly... its not the matter of shorter distance...its the matter of the temps and detonation.....which WI wont emulate and IC |
do you guys read before you post. Re read my post. I said I will use WATER INJECTION instead of an intercooler. And yes it yealds MUCH MUCH MUCH better resolts and an intercooler. Check out the water injection thread for more info:

no idiot..get a car first and realize you are wrong....
using water injection INSTEAD of an intercooler is ******* retarded.. using water injection WITH an intercooler is good and very smart so the question is....do you even knwo what you are talking about? not whether bobby or i read |
We have talked about this on the other thread. Rotarys are more sensitive to heat and air intake temps then the piston engine. So when you read that piston guys are doing this...it will not work as well ont he rotary!
