Compression And Boost
Is it advisable to use higher than 9:1 compression rotors when building an engine with a goal of 450 fwhp? I cannot find 9:1 rotors for any sort of decent price. The 9.4 and 9.7's seem a dime a dozen, however.
Also, and further relating this thread to this forum, how would my compression selection affect my turbo selection? ie, If I am limited to running less than 15psi (hypothetical guess) because of the higher compression, should I bother looking at the GT35/40 if I need to push 20psi in order to generate the numbers that I want?

Tulsa, hehe. My dad gave me a burned copy of some new Roy D. Mercer!
Anyway, I would like something that is more for Auto-X, stoplight drags, cruising, etc. rather than out and out hp. All I have now are the s4 8.5:1 slugs. I would like to upgrade to something lighter with a bit more compression. FD rotors would be ideal, but all I have managed to find are 9.4 and 9.7:1 N/A rotors. So, I am considering my options if I choose, say, the 9.4:1 rotors.

FWHP?? Not sure why you would need to go with higher compression rotors anyways. If you want more power turn up the boost and add race fuel.

what's wrong with the 8.5:1? so you can't rev to 10k...but you can sure as hell boost the **** out of it.
