Welp, Cracked my Chromemolloy PPf in half tonight.
I was going to the track to get a few passes in, so i had my slicks on the back. They turned me away due to too many people, so i headed home. I get close to home and do a pull from 2nd, hit 20lbs and shift hard into third. It lost traction and then bit hard, started to pull again and then BANG! It sounded like a gun going off behind my head. I thought it was just my small toolbox shifting backwards after to hooked up.
Well later that day I was takin my friend for a ride, and did another 2nd gear pull. When I shifted into third there was a huge grinding sound. Turns out that the broken PPF was giving the Diff and driveshaft enough vertical motion to grind on just about everything.
the top tube is snapped, and the bottom is visibally stressed.
time for the fabber to remake it with thicker walled tubbing...
Sorry for the dark pic, but you get the idea. Notice the weld is fine, just the bar is broken.
What is a "PPF"
The race car builder wants to know.

Like a subframe to support the driveline?
I have a three trailing link system on a Speedway Mini quickchange. And my own design latteral locator. Always looking for new ideas.

stock its a big brace that goes from the rear of the trans to the front of the diff, it eliminates the front diff mount and the rear tranny mount, its supposed to breed oneness between horse and rider

So, the diff wanting to wind up just breaks it? Looks lame.
