i never noticed it before... but my blitz bov (older one) was leaking a lot at idle... i mean i could feel a lot of air (A LOT) coming from the bov(I.E. blowing out of the bov) and hitting my hand at idle. i didn't think this was good, so i tightened down the adjust screw till where no air is leaking, but now under boost it sounds like i have it too tight... doesn't have a nice clean blow off... sounds like i am getting compressor surge. so whats the deal... should i loosen it so it blows off cleanly but leaks (blows air) at idle, or should i leave it as it is now, no blowing at idle, but getting compessor surge.

john

ps, i'll have to check again, but i am pretty sure that the bov shuts close as soon as i start building boost... so i am not sucking in any, just losing some at idle....

don't worry about what it does at idle. Just adjsut it so it opens up under boost.

It shouldn't leak at idle John. You can try adjusting the screw down a hair to see if you can get rid of the flutter. If it opens up under idle conditons, it'll be open under boost as well. I've also heard that the Apexi BOV isn't all that great and that they break/wear out easily. I'd also consider taking it apart to make sure the rubber pieces are all still intact and not ripped.

At idle the car should be under vacuum and sucking air in...

yea, it sould be sucking air in.... its like the vaccum hose connected to it is pulling up on the piston making it open... it i adjust it so that it doesn't leak it really flutters.... i'll have someone check it out at the dyno day....
