lol, there is nothing illegal about putting gas into cans, its pumping it right into the car where the problem lies.

what you need is a dummy gas can in the trunk that just goes into the gas tank, so you just put gas into the can in the trunk 
When you go to the gas station you will see there should be a little sign saying to put gas cans on the floor before dispensing fuel into them.
The little airport over here wont even let a car or a person NEAR the pump
or the gas truck.
