Will someone please explain to me what the BAC does? I just did an 89 intake manifold swap onto my 87, and the connection wont fit anymore b/c something is in the way. I am wonering if I can take it off and block it off. But I want to know what it does first before I make any decisions. Thanks.

Please ignore the question from the previous post. I wrote that before I did a search. My next question is, if I do a removal of the rats nest, will that alter the idle/ driveability?

your idle should really only be affected by removing the thermowax, the BAC, bla bla bla.

Honestly tho i have an 88 na and 89 t2, i did the rats nest removal, blocked off the BAC and did the tb mod. basically stripped everything out i didnt "absolutely need". They *both* idle perfectly at 750-800rpms. If you do everything good, and readjust everything to idle right, youll idle fine. Removing the thermowax, as part of the tb mod, will mess up your "cold start" tho and you may have to give it gas to keep it going. BUT if you dont do the tb mod and just do the rats nest removal, myour idle should be fine.

I kept my BAC primarily to handle the AC loads.

I deleted the thermo-wax & cold start fast idle cam.

BUT - I'm in Florida.

my s4 n/a has fully charged r-12 a/c and without the BAC it still runs fine and idles fine with a/c on full blast.
