This is what Lotus should have replaced the Esprit with. I had an Elise on order , test drove a demo, then cancelled the deal. The car is neat but for $40k + ? No thanks.Also getting in and out is a contortionists dream. You'd think the Brits would have built a car that real people can get into.

Actually, fartface, that looks like chromemolloy tubbing, which is light, strong, and expensive.

Real people aren't race car drivers. Jockey sized guys like me usually are. Anyhoo, I'm taking an Elise to Cali on Monday on the company's buck, so that should be fun. I haven't driven one of this gen before, so I'm hoping it will be as much fun as the last one.

You shift it like any other manual tranny. The tiny red dot you see under the brake is the accelerator. Left pedal clutch, right pedal brake, tiny red dot, gas.
