It would be helpful if one of the cunning linguists on the forum would provide the etymological origins of the word catsup, or ketchup, and explain why both spellings seem equally pervasive.

Catsup is listed as a variant of "ketchup", so I guess the more proper spelling is ketchup.

Mr. Burns goes shopping, and hes holding a bottle of "Castup" and "Ketchup" trying to figure out the difference. It's funny. Yeah....funny!

 

It was one of the plastic bottles with the tiny hole in the lid. I had the cap closed, but it had so much build up in it that it slung open... lol.
