I recently put in a K&N stock replacement filter in the stock airbox. I feel that although the car response improved at high speeds, it is running a bit lean at idle and low revs. I thought I may compensate for this by turning the air adjusting screw under the intake elbow. My stupid question is this: which way do I turn it to make the mixture richer? I've noticed that clockwise decreases the revs.

Running lean at idle and low RPM's is fine. **** I've been running at 13.5+ a/f at idle/cruise for at least 2 years and never had issues. Trust me when I say that your idle a/f isn't nearly as lean as mine is.

the aas is there to adjust the base idle speed. if its too far off the idle will be messed up, the ecu expects the aas to be set to a certain place, and gets out of whack if its too far off.

at 1200+ rpms the o2 sensor controls the mixture, its closed loop @14.7:1

Unless ofcoarse you don't plug in the O2 gauge. Who is working towards better fuel economy here anyway.
