Sorry, you dont make much sense. Drag racing cars that make really high HP are the ones MOST concerned with suspension, aerodynamics, TIRES, etc. There are sssso many other factors to running fast times besides a lot of power. Most people think it's just high HP and a decent driver and you can run low times. There are so many factors that i guess people that dont drag race wolnt see. Having alot of HP is nice, but if you cannot control that power then it is useless!

I guess you missed when I said that most serious high HP cars DONT waste their time on dynos.

Sorry if i seem edgy, but you are very snobby on the boards towards new people. and imo this is a noob question!

LOL Noob? Okay. It was just a "I was pondering" type question. I can understand how it may sound like a newbie question.

I know and definitely understand how it takes more than HP to get down the line faster. I'm sure most of those Supra owners are concerned with what they have on the rear wheels, suspension work, all to hook up better despite IRS "Squatting" vs. a domestics solid rear.

I read where you said most serious high HP don't waste their time on dyno's, yet I beg to differ, perhaps hanging around on SF has spoiled my take on it, but it seems that most of the "big boys" running 700rwhp or more always have their dyno sheets and specs on hand. Most of them are 1/4 mile guys as well...so go figure.

I don't think I am snobby to anyone at all, even the newbies! In fact, anyone new thats in the area I have asked to come on over and I'd give em a ride and talk FD stuff with! I only played with one kid asking about the weight of the hood, and it was all "GenD" type fun.

So I apologize if I seem rash, I never meant for it to read that way.

What I was refering to is all the "the FD is the ultimate sports car and there is nothing better out there in the world" type of comments.

Supra people are different then rx-7 people. Every really high HP car i have seen doesent really dyno all the time, their time is spent racing!

Yea, I can understand that. I really asked out of curiosity, not to prove a point to anyone. As I read of 4-600rwhp in FD's, I wonder where it ends...that's all. HP/Weight ratio is key, so seeing anything remotely high in an FD is impressive nonetheless.

I still don't like that I sound snobbish, i guess the difference between "teasing", joking, or being sarcastic is sometimes against my favor. I apologize to anyone that has read me that way. Anyone who's seen me/met me at the local track knows any "Car smack talk" I do is just for kicks.

Really? Cause with the Mr2's and Supra's there was a strict answer "Blah blah has the highest HP street Mr2/Supra at xxx rwhp" that's what I figured I'd get here in a response or so...

How do you figure?

My car should pump out 600+ without pushing the car too hard (i have LOTS of compressor lol) and it's still a 'street' car. where i'm going with this is, this question is impossible to answer. I could swap the alcohol race motor into my 'street' car and go out and make 900 HP.

Keep dreaming man.......

Please don't turn this into a flame match ladies. State what you want but please keep the flames low. A thread like this is almost doomed from the start to be pointless.

No flames from me pal. You learned your lession about numbers and "it should make" did'nt you Dave?

Forum talk is 99% BS anyways keep on posting.

I am not saying 600 hp is not a real number but it is not as easy as you make it out to be. REGARDLESS who YOUR tuner is.
