I tried an aviation forum about 2 years ago. Apparantly I'm a kid who doesn't know what he wants in life, flying sucks, and I'll be broke for the rest of my life.

I left out that I'll be sharing underwear with 3 other pilots living in a small apartment.

i got all that, and you don't have enough hours, and you are nothing without flight time, and you are the worst pilot in the ******* world if you don't have at least 20,000 hours, and no one will want to hire you.

Yeah I wish I had the message a guy PM'd me on the forum I was on briefly. It was like 2 pages and the most depressing thing I've ever read. He was probably furloughed and mad at the world. I remember he said don't get a 4 year degree, which I found funny since most all the majors now demand a 4 year degree. I've been reading a couple huge books on airlines that a guy gave me. Inside tips and how things work in the airlines. Basically the money and good life are in the majors and its not easy getting there. Decent money and hours in the regionals, though some don't pay ****. First year anywhere isn't going to pay much. Corporate is more stable with decent money. But I want to be flying 15 days a month making 1k a day.

its just rediculous how much you have to sacrafice and spend just to get anywhere in the aviation world.

i have a friend who has been paying off loans while being a flight instructor (they make jack) for the past 8 years..

my total loan for getting my private pilots license was $4500. with that i bought a nice noise reduction headset, (already had the training material) and kneeboard thingy, all at a 141 school.

i don't know how far i plan on going in this industry, but i don't think all the sacrafices are worth it just to have a nice view. you can get that in a 172
