But I want to be flying 15 days a month making 1k a day.

Now I can see why someone would want to be a pilot, that would be deadly .

its just rediculous how much you have to sacrafice and spend just to get anywhere in the aviation world.

i have a friend who has been paying off loans while being a flight instructor (they make jack) for the past 8 years..

my total loan for getting my private pilots license was $4500. with that i bought a nice noise reduction headset, (already had the training material) and kneeboard thingy, all at a 141 school.

i don't know how far i plan on going in this industry, but i don't think all the sacrafices are worth it just to have a nice view. you can get that in a 172

Thats what you have to ask yourself, if you really want to wait it out and try to make a career out of it. Probably why there are so many people that fly as a hobby and not as a living. There were a dozen instructors that were hired on two months ago from this school. From what I've gathered around here, the average someone will instruct is about 3 years before getting hired on. After you get picked up by someone then its just finding the windows that the majors are hiring to try and land that big paying job.
