Just about to pull the trigger on a set of gold SSR Type F (18 x 9) for my Black Cherry Shinka. They come in 3 offsets: 32,40, 50.

I believe I should go with the 40's, as the 32's would stick out too much. Anyone with an opinion?

As far as rubber is concerned, I want the same size all around (no staggering, prefer not to understeer).

Wanted to go with 265 / 35 but my dealer checked with Tanabe (owners of SSR) and said they would not fit, that the most I can go with up front is 245 / 40 which is what I have now on my stock rims. Anybody out there running this wheel size / tire size combo?

For those who are interested, I'm attaching my spreadsheet with tire sizes, and what each one does to ride height.

Later,

Rod

I don't see why you couldn't run a 265 or even a 275. I see guys on rxclub run those all day long.

Even on the front? I know the rears have plenty of room and have no problem but I was told the fronts would rub at anything approaching full lock.

Finally got my rims from Japan in October, and they look awesome! I mounted four Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110, size 255 / 35 on them.

They are more than wide enough for whatever I want to do with the car. However, they are a lower profile than I had originally intented and I have too much gap.

So now it looks like I'm going to have to get some coilovers to drop the car some 2 inches (I had already dropped it an inch when I changed the springs).

It will ride very LOW, but look a lot better. Will post pics once I get this done (hopefully within the next two months).

Happy Festivus everyone.
