Ill start from the bottom. If you were comparing the powerband of the RX8 to the S2000, you must have been too stoned to actually understand my point the first time. The driving experience feels very similar to the S2000. The great brakes, awesome handling, stiff chassis, and that silky stiffness of the suspension feels very similar to the S2000. And I swear they use the same transmission... Its hard to find one car with a tranny that good, let alone 2 made by different companies. Both cars are an absolute joy to run through the gears, and a blast to drive.

The sound is definately a rotary, but very unique. At low rpm's, the sound is akin to a jet engine spooling up, and the exhaust/intake notes build up as the rpm's climb. I notice the low rpm sound sometimes in my GTU, but my exhaust is too loud to hear it under most cisrumstances.

How the hell did you not have visibility problems??? I couldnt see a damn thing behind the front seats if it wasnt through the rear view mirror. Did you actually back it up in a congested parking lot, or only drive it forward?
I didn't compare it to the S2000, someone else did ...was it you? If it was, you must have been driving the wussy auto or maybe you got in a Hundai by mistake.

The power band was awsome and constant and smooth to redline. I had no visibility problems other then the intrument cluster. The only parking problems I had was puting it in 6th instead of reverse but I remebered the 2nd time. I had no rear visibility problems and I drove it both in daytime and night.

There's nothing wrong witht he top of the line version and it has "approximately" the same HP as the "stock" FD had. I would buy it over my FD if I was shopping today.

I drove the 6 speed, 238 hp RX8. I said the powerbands were totally different. The RX8 seemes to have a bit more midrange and low end pull around town, but its top end was not as stong as the S2000. The S2000 is faster. And for all the refinement of the S2000, it can never match the smoothness and eagerness to rev of the rotary.

If you havent driven both, dont comment on both. Take my impressions for what theyre worth, and disregard the parts about the S2000. Its pretty easy, you should try it sometime.

Drove it 1st day they had it here in SD.. Its nice, awesome engine. I'll probably stick in in my gsl-se... but I still like my FD better. I just feels like its got more pep to it. The Rx8 granted its an awesome car, but it just felt like a bigger honda to me. Maybe with a better suspension the car would have won me over. And by better I mean harder. I'm sure if I got the chance to push it in the corners it would have been different. But I wasn't thrilled with the ride.
