I definitely haven't taken any 18hr trips, but on a few 1-3 hr cruises, I thought my MT was just great. Fit like a glove and just the right balance between being too harsh and too soft. I just keep falling more and more in love with this car the longer I have it!! - oops, I think my wife just heard that!!

I feel the same way. I love this car more every day. My wife thinks the 8 is too large, and hates the auto. Of course, she is on her second Miata, and that fits HER like a glove. She did drive it on the long trip to give me a rest for a couple hours, and she did like it on the freeway.
