they wont face that fact until youre paying for it, then they will be pushing a new motor for every problem you have

RIIIIIGHT!

There have been many auto RX-8s here that have had issues with dying while idling. wtf? I don't think MNAO has figured it out yet, but the dealers threw engines in a few of them before MNAO said "STOOOOOOOOOOP!!!"

Our 6speed has already needed 2nd-3rd syncros and 3rd and 4th gears replaced.

You won't be bolting on anyting any bigger. It won't fit physically.

My new system that I just completed had to use a really radical angle (well, not too radical - everything is still way under the 30° limit for oil drain purposes) to wedge the T3/T4 in there. A full T4/04 won't fit because of clearance to the suspension, engine and motor mount.

A bigger turbo is a waste, anyway. You can only run 7 PSI of boost before you max out the FI system, so use a turbo that produces that much boost in its max efficiency range.

What I am going to do is replace the center section of my turbo with a water-cooled, ball bearing CHRA and look for a T3 turbine housing with the integral wastegate flanging and an A/R that is at least .82. I'm using .63 right now and it will probably choke the engine at high RPMs. It produces full boost at 2800 RPM - I think that will indicate a restriction, don't you?

hope you have a good wastegate. also, if you are going to the trouble of turboing an 8 why dont you upgrade the fi system?

What type of problems are you having. Sorry to hijack your thread. I am just wondering because I have been dealing with a misfire issue since new and I'm curious what your cars issues are.

When do you get back Jeff? I would like to see what your talking about with my own eyes. I could imagine that it is tight but pics dont always show what it really looks like.

I keep getting p0300 code. Random Misfire. They have replaced:

Plugs, wires, new flash, and now coil packs all 4! . I have been dealing with this since the I got the recall flash but I think it is a fucked motor from too much timing and it has done the damage and now they want to band aid it back together.

Also, I've heard how much rwhp it adds, I'm curious as to what the torque is like and the dyno chart looks like. I bet it'll have a nice full and flat torque curve. Gonna blow some trannies.....
