I beleive they said the exhaust from a turbo-charged Renesis was not hot enough for the catalytic converters to work, not the turbos themselves.

from what i knew........ heat is very very very bad, and i never thought i would hear the day that a rotary engine didnt produce enough heat

I still think a New Repu would be cool..

Well Mazda seems to have worked out the kinks on the newer third gens in Japan.. Maybe they got the issues worked out better..? So I wouldn't rule out twins in the future..
Yea, a new Repu would be cool.. I know, they will more than likely use the twins again.. I'm just saying, I don't think they'll put them on the RX-8.. maybe another rotary though.. hopefully a new RX-7.. :smirk: or maybe even a twin turbo Repu.. :bigthumg:

UH, A turbo doesn't need heat to work, doesn;t it just need airflow, I mean it has to be strong exhaust airflow to spin the turbo, but heat is actually bad...

Turbines use heat. The energy of the exhaust expanding and cooling is used by the turbine to turn.

When I was at FEED this weekend me and the president were talking about the RX8, and he said he got to drive it, and it was super slow, but since he has a lot of HP laying around, im sure he is compairing it to the FD stock.

I mentioned a turbo for the RX8, and he just smurked.... SO if Mazda doesnt do one I think I know who will.

Somewhere on rotarynews.com I read an article about the rx8 where a Mazda engineer was quotes as saying the Renesis is designed to handle a turbo
