Is it possible to fit a mountain bike into the trunk of the rx8? I can take both front and rear wheels off, but the frame has gotta fit inside. If not than I might reconsider selling my subaru legacy and rx7 and getting an 8.

there's probably room for it in the trunk, but the opening is an odd size, could make it tough. my suggestion would be take the bike to the dealership, and give it a try. I'm willing to bet that if the salesman thinks the sale rides on the ability to pack the bike, they'll figure out how to do it, if it's possible.

Just be sure to stop them before they take a hacksaw to the frame of your bike!
