I was just thinking how cool it would be to have a stock appearing vert with a N/A 20b, cuz I want like 250+hp out of a very reliable setup so as to have a sweet DD. Then I was thinking, **** the Rennesis produces 240 right, so with a few mods it should put out about the same as an N/A 20b. And with the availability, I would think that it would be far cheaper to just put in a Rennesis.

I wonder how hard the install would be. What do you guys think, how much stuff do you think would have to be changed. Prolly way to much now that I'm thinking about it. oh well

It would be cool to do though....

you're gonna need to make some kinda motor mounts, the renny is totally different. that and you need all the stock parts, or something

More expensive than buying a 20b and installing it?

your gonna have to wait until somebody wrecks it, they are not even on the shores yet my freind. Not to mention if you want a rebuilt 20b from Mazda, you have to have a core, or in Japan at least you have to have a title to the Cosmo to even order the parts for one. So getting a rennesis engine is not going to be as easy as you think, and as far as cost, go to a junkyard and find a 2000-up vehicle and check their engine prices, you will be surprised to see they are not that cheap

Well, I'm not really in a hurry, I'm kinda looking for a project that I can slowly evolve over time. Right now money is a little tight, but I was thinking over the next 2 years I would look at doing the swap, this is not something that I was planning on rushing into. And of course I need a 20b core, to do anything in the rotary world you need a good core, unless you want to pay out the ***.

sounds like a good idea that. in theory the renesis is smaller than the 20b and im guessing pretty damn close to the sme size as a 13b so i say go for it and pioneer us a new swap ::

right now it is, because the motor is more expensive, you have to deisgn your own mounts etc

I'm pretty sure that by the time I have the money and motivation to do it, at least one other person will have done it. Actually I hope someone does, I don't have the money, time, or experience to "pioneer a new swap" hopefully somebody who really knows what they are doing leads the way.

Does the Renessis bolt up to the fc tranny?
