Renesis N/a Performance
#1
This just in from the sa22c list:
"I was speaking with one of the guys at Star Mazda (they build formula cars and host the Star Mazda series) last week and we talked about the work they are doing with the renesis for race cars. he told me that their testing revealed that the stock intake (70mm throttle body) left the engine wanting more. They expect to be able to reach 300bhp by 7300 rpm (their rev limiter is set there) with no engine mods, only bolt ons. They've already developed a header for the race cars and are playing around with the intake now. So, if they can make 300hp with intake and exhaust mods, it shouldn't be too hard for us to do :]"

Reason for the 7k rpm limit is that's what the restrictor is set for to compete in the Forumla Mazda series. SCCA General Competition Rules.
As for why SCCA would set that low of a limit....
