[quote name='rowtareh' date='May 5 2005, 07:30 PM']How big is the oil cooler? Are we talking FC size or bigger? The FC's oil cooler is pretty big from what I have seen. Which is only an FD and FC cooler.

They are just so damn sexy. I am trying to convince the g/f to get a used one, but she is not budging yet.

rx8 radiator is a little taller than the fd and thick like the fc or 99 fd, but its a bunch wider than either.

the -8 uses 2 oil coolers that are each larger than the fd unit. they are prolly 2 inches taller each. and theres always 2 of them, unless you have the at.

It's awesome, how at just 7 psi(Greddy kit), with a basically stock efi setup it puts down 240-270whp. What do FD's usually put out stock? 210-220? Anyway...technology is great.

Great stuff on the renesis. This should be pinned I think.

I think I may have to purchase one when the price goes down. I wonder if Mazda will put out a turbocharged RX-8 in the future, since it is doing pretty well with the Greddy kit. Well as in putting out decent hp, don't know about the engine lasting as long?

I did 4 hard auto-x runs on a +/- 30 second course last weekend which caused the reservior tank to boil over and I lost about 1/2 gallon of coolant. It was about 80 degrees outside and it was kinda embarassing even though I ran really well in the auto-x and was beating the g35's and the 350z's they all came over and where like WTF is that leaking out of your car did you blow a hose or something?

yeah the stock rx-7 fd's ran like 210-240 hp or something to the wheels, turboed

but

they also were quite prepared for being turboed, and having to drop a few thousand bucks for a turbo kit on a car that's already 20-30k doesn't seem like that great of a thing to me. The renesis still has to lower that compression a bit, and to slap on that supercharger. Once it does that i think it will be a complete beast. I'd love to see what it could handle when it gets that mazdaspeed touch.
