I get this magazine in the mail today that was meant for someone else, normally I would leave the thing in the mailbox for the mailman, but one of the cars on the cover is the new RX-8, so as far as I was concerned it was a message from god, lol.

This magazine drove it, and for the first time Im hearing of 2 models being available. Its Automoble magazine, not weekly, just Automobile.

A standard 205hp version which bases at $27,000

A high-powered version 260hp with 6 speed base at $32,000.

Guess we can look forward to Mazda selling loaded RX-8s for about $35,000, oh well so much for them keeping the car affordable.

I would imagine event the base model with leather and what not being about $29,000.

I would get the Infiniti coupe. Such a nice and refined car

I can imagine the slew of recalls the RX-8 will have as well, lol

Hopefully none go on fire

But yeah, that price is a little out of range then.

Although I wonder how much the RX-8 and 350Z markets will overlap. The 8 will compete with a lot of different vehicles including G35 coupes AND sedans, BMW 3-series (again, coupes and sedans), as well as pure sports cars, Audi TT etc. And against some of these it will be very reasonably priced.

Hopefully, the same folks' that buy Audi TT's will realize that the 8 is more car for the $$$... as long as they don't start bursting into flames, like Rob said.
