I've searched around and the RX-7 people seem to think the Dynomax Race is a good muffler for the rotary. There is basically nothing on RX8Club.com except whole exhaust system info. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif I'm looking at replacing just the muffler on my RX-8 and was wondering if anyone has used the DynoMax Ultra Flo Welded Universal Muffler? I want a fairly quite mellow sounding muffler, but have no clue what most acceptable piston engine mufflers would sound like when put on a rotary. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Might seem a little expensive, but their exhaust systems are the end all, in my opinion. |
I got the Borla catback system. Best price and very close in design to the dynomax muffler systems. dynomax mufflers is what PFS used. They sounds awesome on rotarys.

I think it makes your car sound like a U.F.O. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/...spacecraft.gif

I stole your avatar 89 Rag... I have a friend who has the Racing Beat on his 8. It sounds good, if that's what you're after. Don't look for any hp gains. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Read the info on Racing Beat's website about their tests on their exhaust system and their competitors'. |

That's part of the reason I'm not willing to spend $500+ on an exhaust system. I just want it a tad louder and I can swap the muffler for less then $150. And it can't hurt to save a few pounds in the process. |
