there you have it folks, remove all emissons on the rx8 and the performance should be around what they were tested for.

(still not 250hp tho)
theres no smog equipment on the car. 1 cat, electric airpump that runs for 30 seconds and thats it

it's the ecu tuning... it even said it in the article... So all you have to do is slap in an aftermarket ecu and you're set!

it's not like you guys who are on this forum and own rx8 will keep your cars stock for long. It's either a supercharger, turboscharger or some otherperformance enhancing mod that you're going to slap on that car...

mazda is makin a mistake by not giving the rx8 more power...it would be selling twice as well if it had rwhp to match its competition..
the general public will always shy away from the rotory, it will never out sell its piston competitors.

Now if you could get a fully loaded RX-8 for under $26,000, then it mayyyy stand a chance.

Mazda isnt out to break sales records, they sell thier little share

of cars and that makes them happy.

I am considering selling it back to the dealer. I really like the car, but $500 and free service for the warranty period is worth about, what $900-$1000? That breaks down to $66 per HP. Not too bad, but I want the power and I don't want to void my warranty doing it. Some of the post's that I've read lately about Mazda voiding warranties due to a few aftermarket parts is appauling. Anyone have any issues with Mazda's warranty and aftermarket parts? For the time being I want to flash the ECU get and intake and exhaust, if my warranty is hosed because of those simple mods they can have it back.
